I entered the Environmental Health profession nearly 20 years ago, and I’ve worked across metropolitan, rural & regional Victoria since then.
Along the way, I took a career break where I stepped away from the profession to raise my boys, run my own business, and spent around five years working in a supermarket. It wasn’t a traditional career path, but it gave me a broader perspective that I still draw on today.
I’m currently the Coordinator of Environmental Health at my home council (four days a week), work one day a week on an Environmental Health inspection project with a large metropolitan council, and I’m also a Director on the Board of Environmental Health Professionals Australia (EHPA), along with a few other professional roles and projects within the sector.
Environmental Health is about protecting people from preventable harm, but the work itself is wide-ranging and constantly changing. No two days are ever the same, which is part of what’s kept me in the profession for this long.
